2. Yeh Meri Family

Who doesn’t love to reminisce about their pre-teen years? I love going back into the lanes of our childhood, back when human relationships were easy, sibling fights were solved within hours, and the hardest thing in life were the summer projects. TVF’s Ye Meri Family will take you back exactly to those simple times. It intertwines an emotional story with great background music and lyrics. And the innocent approach will tug at your heart. 3. Pushpavalli Season 2
Pushpavalli first aired in 2017 and stars Sumukhi Suresh in the titular role. If Season 1 focused on Pushpavalli’s obsession with Nikhil, season 2 is more about revenge. Yes, the food science graduate is back. Only this time, you won’t see the dovey-eyed graduate who is constantly tailing Nikhil. This time, she is wiser and is ready to take her dignity back. For the binge-watchers, this is the perfect series to spend a weekend on. And yeah, Sumukhi Suresh is wonderful as Pushpavalli. Watch Pushpavalli
4. Made in Heaven
If Yeh Meri Family is all about the good old days of 90s middle-class India, Made in Heaven takes a huge leap and shows you the affluent lives of South Delhi and its rich wedding scenes. And no, not the ‘happy’ weddings or the pre-wedding squabbles that go on in every family. Note: We strongly recommend to not watch it with kids around. Made in Heaven explores the life of two wedding planners, Tara and Karan, and their foray into the glittery world of Delhi weddings. The show bares it all — scheming, manipulations, lies, and the shallow thinking that goes into organizing these ‘holy matrimonies.’

5. Laakhon Mein Ek
With an IMDB rating of 8.3 out of 10, you won’t be disappointed in Laakhon Mein Ek, a Netflix original. Written by Biswa Kalyan Rath, this series explores a genre that most Indians are familiar with — the IIT dream. Akash, played by Ritvik Sahore, is a mediocre student who unfortunately has to live his father’s ambition of seeing him get into IIT. And so begins the dark and aggressive take on the Indian education system and the death of a teenager’s dream. Season 2 stars none other than Shweta Tripathi playing the role of a suburban doctor, and as season 1, it’s a treat to watch. Watch Laakhon Mein Ek
6. Panchayat
TVF shows have always been known for their brilliant storytelling and excellent acting, and Panchayat is no different. If you enjoyed Tripling for its madness, you will love Panchayat for its calmness. The message is mostly similar and that is about finding yourself. Only in this case, you have to take a tour into the hinterland of Uttar Pradesh as Abhishekh Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, joins the position of a clerk in the village panchayat. And from there, begins the story of hinterland existence and the daily struggle. The story is slow-moving, but not that slow to bore you down. And the best part is that the social message is subtle and doesn’t push it on your face. Jitendra Kumar is joined by a brilliant case comprised of Raghuvir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Faisal Malik, and Chandan Roy.
6. Bard of Blood

This one is based on an infamous Indian fictional spy thriller by the same name. Starring none other than Emraan Hashmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shishir Sharma, it really brings the heat on as Kabir Anand, an intelligence officer is charged with rescuing his fellow agents from the Taliban. 8. Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega

You must have obviously received phonecalls (AKA scam calls) promising a free trip to Goa or a new car if you just divulge your bank details. Well, that is what is Jamtara all about. Sunny is a teenager in the sleepy town of Jamtara, Jharkhand where he manages to scam people using various phishing techniques. If you thought that this hair-rising series was about how he pranks people, you are seriously wrong. The whole plot revolves around what happens after the phone call. And so begins the cat and mouse game between the scammers, police and a local leader, as the hunter becomes the hunted. 9. Taj Mahal 1989

This is the age of Tinder where it’s simple to find love via an app or dating site. But how was it way back in the 80s? Say Hello to Taj Mahal 1989. It will take you back to the 80s Lucknow and gives you a glimpse of love — both old and new. The storyline is intertwined beautifully with Urdu poetry, and the color tone will make the kid in you go back to those glorious days. If you want to watch something light-hearted, this is the one. 10. The Forgotten Army – Azaadi Ke Liye
Subhash Chandra Bose and his Indian National Army have found many storytellers, both in India and abroad. And The Forgotten Army – Azaadi ke Liye is one of the newest topics on this never-aging subject. Set in pre-independent India, the plot tells you the sacrifice made by the members of this brave Indian force. It stars Sunny Kaushal, Sharvari Wagh and Tj Bhanu among others. 11. The Family Man
The Family Man is an engaging spy thriller that shows a middle-class government agent tackle the job of an intelligence officer and a family man. Starring none other than the brilliant duo of Manoj Bajpayee and Priya Mani, The Family Man comprises of just 10 episodes. So yeah, if you start it on a weekend, chances are that by Sunday night you will be able to wrap it up. The performances are impressive as always. If you stereotyped She as the Indian counterpart of You, the popular Netflix TV show, then you are totally wrong. In fact, both the series are nothing like each other. The series starts as a woman police constable officer goes undercover to nab a drug dealer. However, she is in for a surprise as she discovers her physicality as she goes deep undercover in her honey trap. Okay, okay, I won’t say any more for you must watch it yourself to catch a glimpse of the transformational journey of Bhumi. Coming of the stables of Imitiaz Ali, this show bundles stellar performances by the lead cast led by Aaditi Pohankar and Vijay Varma. Watch She
13. Mirzapur and Sacred Games

Watch Mirzapur These two shows, in their respective capacity, pack all the essentials in the right quality that goes into the making of a great show. You have got adrenaline-rushing suspense and great acting followed by brilliant storytelling. In the case of Sacred Games, it’s a cat-and-mouse game between Sartaj Singh, a police officer, and Gaitonde, a gangster. Watch Sacred Games On the other hand, Mirzapur is more about the drama unfolding between a mafia boss, his son and the impending drama of chaos and lawlessness.
