Another concern is that the machines may not be in proximity or may not always be connected locally. However, assuming that everyone has an internet connection, we will tell you how you could create a virtual clipboard  and share text easily. There are three web tools which I feel require a visit- ShortText, Textsave and WePaste. All are good but we’ll focus on WePaste because it is the most powerful among the bunch. So lets get started.

Textsave

Textsave has a minimal interface to write text, create a link and share it with friends or retrieve on the other computers remotely.

ShortText

On the other hand ShortText adds to sharing and linking of images as well. It has a comment and password enable criteria too. However, it deviates a little from the theme of online clipboard in its attempt to integrate more features.

WePaste

As I stated earlier, the tool of utmost importance here is WePaste. Let us tell you why and how you should use the tool. Step 1: Follow the above link to navigate to WePaste homepage. Choose a name for you clip area and hit the button saying Create Link. You will see that you now have a designated URL for your clip area. Step 2: The writing interface will be activated. The text area can be filled what whatever you wish to write. At the bottom you will also see a set of basic formatting tools. I doubt if these require an explanation. Step 3: Done with writing you may save the file using the Save button on the top right. However, the document gets auto-saved too. Step 4: Since the link lives on the internet I suggest you should make it password protected. Look for the Password button next to the Save button. Note: If your text contains any link you may Activate Link Mode  for ease of usability. Use the same button to toggle to the Edit Mode. There is a field on the top left to define the number of days or lifespan of the page. Step 5: It is considered by default that you shall remember the link to your clipboard. However, if you are sharing it with your friend you have the option of mailing it. Shown below is an example of what a recipient sees in his/her mailbox. It contains the link but not the password. So it has to be shared externally if protected. Step 6: Back on the other computer or when you want to use it you will have to navigate to the given url. You will be asked to enter the document password. The image shows the clipboard as viewed on other machines. Provision for further online editing is always there.

Conclusion

It is as simple as Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Just an additional URL to intercept the entire process! Until Microsoft comes up with a shared clipboard tool I think these methods can serve the purpose.
